Our professional Sage 50 to QuickBooks conversion service ensures 100% accurate data migration with minimal downtime and full financial integrity.

Whether you're moving to QuickBooks Enterprise, Premier, Pro, Accountant, or QuickBooks Online, we make the transition simple and reliable.

Why Migrate from Sage 50 to QuickBooks?

QuickBooks offers an intuitive interface, cloud-based flexibility, and strong integration capabilities, making it a preferred choice for many Canadian businesses. Our conversion service enables you to transition smoothly without losing critical accounting data.

What We Convert from Sage 50 to QuickBooks

We focus on transferring your core accounting data, including:

  • Chart of Accounts
  • Customers List (with current balances)
  • Vendors List (with current balances)
  • Projects/Jobs List (last 2 years)
  • Employees List
  • Other Names
  • Items List
  • Inventory Quantities and Values
  • Invoices and Bills
  • Accounts Receivable (current and historical)
  • Accounts Payable (current and historical)
  • Payroll (as journal entries)
  • Journal Entries

By default, we migrate data for the last two fiscal years. Additional years can be included upon request.
For multi-currency files, transactions are converted as journal entries to maintain consistency, since QuickBooks handles currency differently than Sage 50.

Reports Guaranteed to Match

Your financial reports in QuickBooks will exactly match those in Sage 50, including:

  • Trial Balance
  • Profit and Loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Accounts Receivable Aging Report
  • Accounts Payable Aging Report

What Is Not Converted

Due to differences in how QuickBooks and Sage 50 handle certain features, we do not convert:

  • Departments
  • Budgets
  • Memorized Transactions
  • Estimates, Sales Orders, and Purchase Orders
  • Negative Inventory
  • Custom Templates
  • Payroll Summary Data
  • Advanced Inventory features (like Units of Measure)
  • Bank Reconciliation Status
  • Invoices/Bills incompatible with QuickBooks are converted as journal entries
  • Items not defined as service/inventory in Sage 50

Projects can be converted to Classes upon request.

All transactions in multi-currency files are converted as journal entries to ensure consistency with QuickBooks’ currency handling.

Conversion Process

The process is simple and efficient:

  1. Schedule the Conversion
Contact us using the form on our website. We will send you instructions to securely upload your Sage 50 file.
  2. Upload Your Sage 50 Backup File
Locate your Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) file and upload it using the provided instructions.
  3. Download the Converted QuickBooks File
Within approximately two business days, we’ll send you a QuickBooks file that opens directly in QuickBooks. The Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, and Balance Sheet will match your Sage 50 data.

Post-Conversion Tasks

After the conversion is complete, a few manual adjustments may be required:

Bank Reconciliation
Bank transactions will not be marked as reconciled during the conversion. You will need to manually mark them as reconciled to reflect your statement balance accurately.

GST Returns
Ensure that earlier GST return periods are filed in QuickBooks so past transactions don’t appear in future reports. Review the first GST return to confirm accuracy.

Apply Accounts Payable Credits
Go to Edit > Preferences > Bills. Under Company Preferences, enable "Automatically use credits." Then, use the Pay Bills screen to apply credits to bills.

Apply Accounts Receivable Credits
Similar to A/P, A/R credits need to be manually applied to invoices. Refer to QuickBooks support documentation for detailed instructions.

Why Choose Our Service

  • Accurate conversion of key financial data
  • Fast turnaround (within 2 business days)
